Our Maldives video diary

Our Maldives video diary

We spent 2 weeks in the Maldives in November 2014, doing lots of snorkelling and some scuba diving.

The weather in the Maldives is tropical so unpredictable. It can be stormy with heavy rain one minute, and sunny blue skies the next.

Thoddoo Island is located 67km away from Male, the Maldvian capital, in the north Ari atoll.

The weather was not at its best during our two weeks trip in the Maldives, but the sea was always warm and very nice to swim in. We also learnt that you can travel to the Maldives on a budget by staying on one of the local islands (like Thoddoo), where locals are now allowed to offer guesthouses as accommodation options to budget travellers and backpackers.

This the first time we used an underwater camera in our travels and as you can see the video quality is quite good. We did not own any underwater camera ourselves but two fellow beach goers lent us their GoPro so we could make a few video clips underwater.

We loved the GoPro so much that as soon we reached Bangkok we bought a Hero GoPro so we could do some under water filming while diving in the Thai Islands.

The software used to create this movie is: MAGIX Edit pro 2013.
