Romance and luxury at The Four Seasons Langkawi
The Four Seasons Langkawi is one of the most beautiful places we’ve encountered during our travels.
Set amidst the luxurious jungle and bordering a beautiful white sandy beach, this Moroccan style inspired retreat is the ideal place for honeymooners or gay couples looking for a romantic getaway.
The magical scenery combined with the breathtaking architecture, transports you into a completely different world: a private sanctuary where your senses will be fully indulged.
This is the experience of a life time!
#1 A SECLUDED PARADISE SURROUNDED BY NATURAL BEAUTY
The Four Seasons Langkawi is located at the edge of the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, on the North of the island.
The Geoforest Park is part of a 550 millions years old rock formation, which was declared UNESCO Geopark status since 2007.
The Resort is spread across 48 hectares, with the rainforest and karst formations on one side, and the beautiful beach of Tanjung Rhu on the other.
Walking across one side of The Four Seasons Langkawi to the other will certainly keep you in shape, but if you’re in a hurry, they offer bicycles for guests to use, or offer buggies to drive you around the resort.
#2 BEACH VILLAS OVERLOOKING THE ANDAMAN SEA
The beach villas are Moroccan inspired and their interiors, tastefully decorated. Some even have their own private pools and each comes with a large stone bath fitting up to 4 people.
We were particularly impressed by the stunning view of the beach and the Andaman sea from the private balcony.
#3 ACTIVITIES AT THE FOUR SEASONS
Whether you’re interested in relaxation, fitness or nature, The Four Seasons has it all.
The Geo Spa at The Four Seasons Langkawi offers excellent treatments, inspired by the ancient healing energies of the nearby Geopark. They use exclusively Ila essential oils, which are renowned for their dual nurturing and nourishing properties.
We tried the signature massage, Urut Melayu. This is an ancient Urut-inspired techinque used by Malays for generations to relieve tension and unify the mind with the body. After 60 minutes of pure bliss, the massage was followed by the ‘Raja Ratu’ (meaning King and Queen) ritual.
The Raja Ratu is a bonding ceremony, where two spirits are unified by the sound of chants, with flower petals decorating the lovers, symbolising their love for each other.
A truly special and unforgettable moment!
The Four Seasons Langkawi offers mangrove tours to their guests, a must if you want to learn more about the wildlife and the ecosystems of the island. They also offer trekking in the nearby karst formations and helicopter rides. Unfortunately, we could not try the helicopter ride, because of Sebastien’s fear of flying!
For fitness enthusiasts, The Four Seasons Langkawi has an excellent well equipped gym, one of the best we’ve encountered in our travels.
#4 A SWIMMING POOL JUST FOR ADULTS
The Four Seasons has two outdoor swimming pools, one for children and one for adults.
The adults’ infinity pool is 50m / 164 feet long and offers great views over the tranquil and calm sea. It has 8 private cabanas with attentive bar staff ready to serve you a snack or a delicious cocktail.
#5 A TASTE OF MALAYSIA AT THE IKAN IKAN RESTAURANT
The Four Seasons Langkawi has several restaurants, among them, Ikan Ikan, their signature and most popular one.
The Ikan Ikan serves some of the most delicious Malaysian food we’ve tried, particularly satay and a yummy fried snapper glazed with honey and tamarind sauce. Their deserts are to die for, especially the honeycomb cake with ice cream!
#6 STUNNING SUNSETS BY THE BEACH
The sunsets every evening on the island are spectacular. All the guests and staff gather for a cocktail on the beach to witness this very special moment together.
