The place is cozy and well connected to the city centre, the beds are comfortable and the staff is really friendly and helpful!

The amount of storage/space in the female dorm is great. The owner Mako is super kind and friendly. Since I wasn't interested in a welcome drink, she gave me some soup instead. The house is beautful as well.

Roku hostel is an exceptionally friendly place to be, as many others already said: Mako being a great host and her adorable daughter being a little ball of sunshine. The facilities were simple, but absolutely sufficient for us - just what you find in many Japanese houses. We stayed in a private room for 2, that was small enough to only be equipped by 2 futons, but we did not need anything more. There is not a lot of sound isolation, but everything was really quiet during the night. Mako also has a little cafeteria with delicious drinks and great breakfast.

It was a cool hostel. Just needed something close to Hiroshima station and it was perfect. Mako was a great host and offered to help me with my Japanese. Although I wish I could’ve stayed up a little longer to talk with her. I had to get up super early.

Beautiful property with all necessary amenities. Staff was ultra helpful and allowed us to do an early bag drop. We were performing at a nearby livehouse the night of our stay and were out most of the time spent in Hiroshima, so I wish we could have had more time to enjoy ourselves at Roku!

Amazing hostel if you’re into something cozy, to really get to chat with the owner/staff. The welcome drink was awesome to create a common space. Rooms and facilities were a bit small especially to store personal stuff, but was generally not a problem. Slightly out of the way of the main attractions in Hiroshima, but neighborhood was quiet and easily accessible.

This is not a fancy place, but it is clean and definitely charming. I'd call it Japanese boho- chic? The owner and staff are super nice and helpful. I loved the relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Super cool hostel. It felt more like staying at a friend's house. On the weekend I stayed, the host Mako, was having a summer party for her daughter and some other kids. So they were playing around and talking to us even if we didn't spoke Japanese. Super fun and cute. The Hostel itself has a lot of personality and the beds were very spacious. And even though the dormitory was full, It was quiet at night and I could have a very good night sleep. But be aware of the cicadas in summer, they are super loud! Haha. Anyway, would really recommend staying here if you go to Hiroshima specially if you want to meet new people:)

it was amazing ! planned to go for one night and decided in the last minute to extend one more night. stuff was so nice! the room and all the hostel was so beautiful and felt like a Japanese traditional house. also it was a good environment and quiet. very very clean and bed was comfortable.
