Great vibes, we can meet a lot of people in the common areas upstairs. Nice restaurant open 24h and also a super nice bar with good pub food and craft beer. Kind staff who helped me move rooms mid reservation to stay with different people. Luggage storage is very helpful too.

Rancho Grande is at a great location in El Chaltén - close to the start of all the famous trekking trails. The restaurant area is open 24/7 - food is great (huge and delicious Milanesas! By staying in the hostel, I got 10% discount for all dinners. The atmosphere is very cozy, perfect for an after-hike relaxation. The kitchen area is big, common areas are well-designed.

Dorm room was great and had enough space. Loved the window. Wifi was strong during the day, but not at night in the rooms. Location was great to explore el chalten and hikes. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Good option in El Chaltén. Best asset is the staff, huge thanks to Fatima for all the tips and help provided. The rooms are clean, the common space with wifi noce to have, although pretty noisy with the restaurant downstairs. Location is good on one of the main streets : 20mn walking from the bus station, but only a few minutes away from the laguna de los tres trail.

The hostel has great facilities you can use after check out (e.g. showers if you’re coming back after a hike). We were moved next door to a different hotel, but it was equally nice (and quiet). They also provide lunch boxes for 8,000 pesos each.

I paid for 3 breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner in the restuarant. There is a guest discount for dinner. Food was excellent and staff were amazing. I loved the desgn of the hostel, the materials used, the good sized dorm rooms etc. Good quality linen. Things like the little box shelf next to the bed with power connection and personal light were a nice touch. The high shelf inside the locker was also useful. I loved the high ceilings in the restuarant and the balcony area and sitting room for hostel guests was comfortable, airy and clean. Wifi sometimes cut out in the dorm rooms The shower room and toilets were always clean. The whole place seemed to be cleaned by someone at any hour of the day. There were lots of staff about. Staff at reception were very patient and helpful with advice about hikes and weather. I had a later bus booked on checkout day so it was great to know I could use the lounge facilities and even have a shower after check out time. Bag storage was free.
